The YETI Tundra 45 in Charcoal is a hard cooler built around a practical, versatile size. It is designed to handle provisions for an overnight camp for four people, or to keep drinks cold for a full day on the water. That balance makes it one of the most adaptable options in the Tundra range, large enough for serious use, compact enough to stay manageable in transport and daily packing.

Its construction focuses on long-term durability and temperature retention. The cooler uses a rotomolded construction for a near-indestructible build, paired with Permafrost™ insulation and a FatWall™ design with up to 7.5 cm of insulation. Together with the InterLock™ lid system and ColdLock™ gasket, the Tundra 45 is made to hold cold in demanding conditions. YETI also notes that it can help keep food warm around camp in colder weather, which adds to its usefulness beyond standard cold storage.

For repeated outdoor use, the hardware is built with the same straightforward approach. T-Rex® lid latches are designed to stay robust over time, while the NeverFail™ hinge system uses two hinge pins to help prevent breakage. The cooler is also listed as a bear-resistant design, approved by the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee when used with an extra-long Master Lock® padlock.

In daily handling, the Tundra 45 is equipped for transport, loading, and securing in place. DoubleHaul™ handles use heavy-duty polyester rope, while LipGrip™ handles are shaped to stay out of the way during carrying. BearFoot™ non-slip feet help reduce sliding on a boat deck or in the back of a vehicle, and AnchorPoint™ tie-down slots allow the cooler to be secured to a boat, trailer, or truck bed when needed.
