Scarpa Mescalito Gore-Tex Dark Olive / Gray

The Scarpa Mescalito Gore-Tex is a waterproof approach shoe built for technical access routes, via ferratas, mountain hikes, and wet day use where protection, precision, and long-wear comfort matter equally. Positioned between light hiking footwear and more climbing-oriented approach models, it is designed to handle varied terrain with a stable, secure feel underfoot.

The upper is made from water-repellent suede leather, paired with an elastic tongue and collar that help improve step-in comfort and maintain a more adaptable fit through extended use. Around the rearfoot, an external TPU Tech support structure adds lightweight reinforcement and heel containment, while the asymmetrical rubber toe cap increases protection at the front, with enhanced coverage on the medial side for more demanding ground contact.

Scarpa uses an extended lacing system, inspired by climbing footwear, running all the way to the toe. This allows for a more adjustable fit and better precision when moving across uneven, rocky, or technical terrain. For wet conditions, the shoe is lined with a GORE-TEX Extended Comfort membrane, delivering waterproof protection with breathable performance suited to active use.

Underfoot, the Mescalito Gore-Tex combines two densities of EVA in the midsole with an ergonomic anti-torsion TPU insert. This construction is intended to improve stability while maintaining agile movement and precise foot placement, useful for mixed mountain terrain where control matters more than excess cushioning.

The outsole uses the Dynamis LB platform with Vibram LiteBase technology, reducing overall sole weight through a thinner profile while retaining the grip, traction, and durability associated with Vibram. The inclusion of Megagrip supports dependable traction on both dry and wet surfaces, making the shoe a strong option for changeable weather and slippery approaches. The model is also resoleable, extending its service life with professional maintenance when needed.
