The Rome Women's Katana AW FASE Black 2027 brings together the familiar control of the Katana platform with a faster, more efficient entry system. Designed for riders who want the connected feel of a traditional two-strap binding without the repeated stop-and-buckle routine, it combines quick access with the adjustability and board feel that define the Katana line. The result is a binding built to keep transitions smooth while maintaining precise response through turns and variable terrain.

At the center of the design is the FASE Fast Entry System. This setup keeps the trusted structure of a two-strap binding, while making entry and exit significantly quicker. The AutoBack enables hands-free step-in function by automatically closing when the boot enters the binding and opening when stepping out. It also folds flat for skating, lift use, and storage. The FastStrap uses a long connected ankle ladder for quick one-hand closure, paired with a classic ratchet layout for accurate tension adjustment. Up front, the Locked-In Toe Strap is designed to stay in place once set, reducing setup time while preserving easy fit adjustment when needed.

Underfoot, the Women's Katana AW FASE is built around an AsymWrap heelcup, a design that runs only under the ball of the foot on the inside edge. This asymmetric construction supports a more natural board flex beneath the foot, helping the binding feel reactive without becoming overly rigid. An adjustable baseplate improves fit across a wider range of boot shapes and sizes, while the forged aluminum HeelHoop adds strength and durability without unnecessary weight.

The chassis uses a 30% glass baseplate, developed to balance response, stability, and a predictable ride feel. A 2-degree dual density footbed adds a canted stance for a more natural position, along with extra underfoot comfort. Higher up, the 15% glass highback delivers a mellow medium flex that keeps the ride smooth while still supporting controlled edge input.

Rome finishes the binding with premium strap design. OmniFlex ankle straps combine an overmolded construction with a TPU spine for responsive torsional flex and direct edge-to-edge power transfer. ProGrip toe straps use a one-piece AuxTech design to provide secure hold, comfort, and even pressure distribution across the boot.
