A DWR finish, made without intentionally added PFAS, adds light surface protection and supports quicker drying between wears. Patagonia keeps the construction focused and functional. The contoured waistband is shaped to follow movement and helps the shorts stay secure without feeling restrictive. A textured drawcord improves knot hold, a useful detail when conditions become more demanding.

Comfort is supported further by smooth, chafe-free seams, allowing the Hydropeak to remain easy to wear for extended periods. This makes them suitable not only for surf use, but also for general summer wear around the coast. Storage is intentionally minimal, with a single back-right patch pocket featuring drainage holes, a key loop, and a flap with hook-and-loop closure.
