The Danner MTN45 Low Gore-Tex in Bone Brown is a low-profile hiking shoe built for mixed terrain, changing weather, and repeat use. It combines a streamlined 3 inch height with a technical construction that prioritises waterproof protection, underfoot comfort, and reliable grip without adding unnecessary bulk.

At the core of the design is a nubuck leather upper, chosen for durability and a shorter, more comfortable break-in period. The shoe is backed by GORE-TEX Invisible Fit, a waterproof and breathable liner bonded directly to the upper to maintain a more natural fit and flexibility. For day hikes, travel, and regular outdoor wear, that translates into weather protection with less of the rigid feel often associated with waterproof footwear.

Underfoot, the MTN45 Low GTX uses a Danner EnduroFoam+ midsole with supercritical foam construction for rebound, shock absorption, and long-wearing performance. A removable OrthoLite footbed adds cushioning and support, while open-cell polyurethane construction helps with heat dissipation and airflow. The result is a stable, cushioned platform suited to longer days on foot.

Traction comes from a Vibram N-45 outsole with Megagrip, designed to perform across wet and dry surfaces. A wider traction lug platform improves stability on uneven ground, making the shoe a strong option for fast-moving hikes, variable trails, and everyday use where grip matters. A TPU shank and lightweight rock plate add structure and underfoot protection on rough terrain, helping maintain control when surfaces become loose or technical.

Danner also adds practical durability details, including a protective rand at the heel and forefoot to resist scuffs and abrasion. The DT-6 last, inspired by trail running, uses an 8 mm heel-to-toe offset and a slightly wider forefoot for added stability and everyday wearability. Finished with a recraftable build, the MTN45 Low GTX is designed to stay in rotation over time rather than being treated as a short-term piece.
